WW2 GERMAN LUFTWAFFE PILOTS DESK TOP TRENCH ART MESSERSCHMITT BF-109
This item came to me in a recently purchased Luftwaffe collection. It is a period desk top model of a Messesrchmitt BF-109 made from metal diving on a a map of England that is made from aluminium. The aircraft has been hand painted and finished. The propellors are still present. There is some slight damage to the tail section that is hardly noticeable. The aircraft is 190mm long x 210mm wide, the base is 160mm long x 100mm at its widest point, the height is 180mm.
This piece was probably made in a workshop and presented to the pilot or commissioned by the pilot as a momento of the Battle of Britain campaign conducted by the German Luftwaffe during WW2. The plane is screwed to the stand and detaches for posting.
This is a unique piece of Luftwaffe history.
