IMPERIAL RUSSIAN CAVALRY OFFICERS PEAK HAT

Imperial Russian Army Officers Peak Hat. white wool/Doeskin material  with a red band and red piping. 2 very small moth nips that are on the surface only. crazed polished visor with the imperial badge to the front. The interior is silk type material lined with a leather sweat band with a bow at the rear. This hat is in excellent near mint condition.

I dont know what unit it comes from but suspect it could be a cavalry unit. If any body knows please let me know.

"This is an officer cap of the Russian Imperial Guard elite unit called "Chevaliers Gardes" "(knights guards), it was an heavy cavalry unit whose members were recruited among the highest noblemen, Russian or not ... these members had to be tall with blond hair and blue eyes and no beard ..."
