17 CENTURY JAPANESE SAMURAI SWORD SHINTO YOSHIKADO
Recently purchased in a Japanese sword collection I have had the the engraving on the Tang de-ciphered.
The engraving on the Tang reads:
NOSHU - Province
SEKI - Town
ZENSHO-KE - Zensho School
ECHIZEN NO KAMI - Lord Of Echizen
YOSHIKADO - Yoshikado Made This
George has indicated that the sword has a couple of very slight imperfections which are hardly noticeable. The Hamon is large and undulating as shown in the images. The sword is in excellent polish. The sword is quality mounted in Shirasaya (Wooden Protective Scabbard) with details in Japanese characters on the outside.
If you are looking for a quality signed 17 Century Japanese Samurai Sword in very good condition then this could be the one for you.
