CZECH VZ58 BAYONET WITH REMOVABLE KNUCKLE GUARD
Background
The 7.62 mm. Czechoslovakian vz. 58 assault rifle (7,62 mm samopal vzor 58) is a refinement of the Kalashnikov AK47 design. The vz. 58 was made from 1959–1984 by Česká Zbrojovka a. s. of Uherský Brod, Czechoslovakia. The vz. 58 is still a standard infantry weapon in the Army of the Czech Republic, used by troops serving in Afghanistan.
Item Description
This is the first time that I have come across a VZ58 with a removable knuckle guard that is detachable and has been proffessionally made. The guard detaches when the locking stud is engaged and when put back on locks into place. There are some stamped markings on the knuckle guard and the word OCHAKEP stamped on the spine which I assume is the original owners name. The blade has been field sharpened and has a false edge, an unusual variant of this bayonet.
