DE-ACTIVATED 303 RIFLE WW1/2 BSA AUSTRALIAN ISSUED.
This rifle was manufactured by the British Small Arms in 1915 to Australia to the 1st Military District (Queensland) and then re issued in WW2 (1944 and 1946).
Maker and date stamped 1915 to the side of the receiver with D arrow D stamping and 1 MD stamp to the top of the receiver. Australian issue stamps to the butt for MAO (Munitions Australia Orange) 1944 and MA (Munitions Australia 6/46). This rifle may have well seen service in WW1, WW2 and possibly the Korean War.
