JAPANESE ARMY OFFICERS SWORD "YOSHIHARU"
This is a Japanese WWll Army officer`s sword. The blade is signed "Yoshiharu 義治", dated "Showa Kinoe-saru Haru (Spring, 1944) 昭和甲申春" , shinogi-zukurishape, WWll time period made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches, light stains but no rust and in good condition. The temper line is chusuguba temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is metal scabbard, no dent, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping shows minor aged wear but no loose and in good condition. Lock pin is missing the tip. It measures 27+1/4" tip to the guard, 26+1/4" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 38+3/4" in mountings.
