JAPANESE TANTO AIKUCHI TYPE
This Tanto has a Copper scabbard and handle that is heavily decorated in relief with flowers, birds and a robed figure of what I am assuming is a God, There is some of the original gilding remaining (see images). The blade shows signs of wear and could do with a professional polish. The length is 260mm with a blade length of 145mm. The date is unknown but more than likely from the mid to late 1800's.
