RARE WW1 IMPERIAL GERMAN ERSATZ TRENCH FIGHTING KNIFE
If you are a trench/fighting knife collector you will already know that this trench knife is very rare. It has come in from a deceased estate where the last owner paid $US1800 plus costs 10 years ago.
It is the EB2 model and has the pressed steel hilt. Blade is in good condition but has signs of field sharpening on the false edge. Maker marked on the tang to F. KOELLER &CO (one of three known makers) with the imperial crown stamped on the other side of the tang. original scabbard with belt loop still attached.
I have searched the internet trying to find another example for sale to no avail which shows how rare this knife is.
