ROYAL ENGINEERS PRESENTATION GURKHA KUKRI
Normally I don't pay much attention to Gurkha Kukri's as most on the market are tourist pieces that are badly made, however this Kukri deserves attention.
Obviously it is a presentation piece more than likely gifted to a Royal Engineers Officer or the Mess as a presentation piece. The scabbard is ornately decorated with a red background to the filigree work which is mounted on Black velvet. The top of the scabbard bears a Royal Engineers badge in brass and enamel with a Queens Crown. The blade is bright with dried grease stains that can be cleaned off. The two skinning knives are present but also could do with a good clean.
If you are a military Kukri collector or a serving or ex Royal Engineer this item is worth considering.
