WW1- 2 US WILLSON ANTI GLARE GOGGLES IN ORIGINAL TIN
Willson made glasses for retail sale and for the Armed Forces of the US. In 1915 they patented the Willson Service Goggles style E1 which were steel rimmed with an adjustable elastic headband. They were fitted with mesh opening side guards. the lenses were anti glare lenses and were a Greenish Brown colour. They were used by pilots, motorbike and vehicle drivers.
This example date from around 1918 onward evidenced by the original instructions inside the original metal storage tin.
