WW1 CASED IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS BY GODET 800 SILVER
Godet was one of Kaiser Wilhelm II’s house jewelers and produced some of the finest decorations in Germany. The Godet company continued production throughout WW2
This example is a low vaulted iron Cross with a traditional 'swollen Pin' which is stamped with the number 21 which indicates it was privately purchased after WW1 when manufacturers marks were replaced with the number system (21 being Godet). The rear of the cross is marked 800 for the silver content, the cross is correctly non magnet as Silver is non magnetic. It comes in its original Dark Maroon case which has the Godet logo on the inside of the lid.
This is a quality cased Iron Cross at the top end.
