WW1 GERMAN PIONEER OFFICERS SPIKE HELMET (PICKELHAUBE)
This Officers Spike Helmet is indicative of the late war period showing a mix of metals used for the silver parts to identify it as a Pioneer Helmet. I have not polished any parts as I tend to leave all items in the condition that I have acquired them showing all the age and wear over the ages and this helmet is a good example of that policy. Officers chin-scales and cockades are still present, The Officers spike displays the star retaining bolts and the pearl ring to the base of the spike, the leather shell is in good condition. The liner is showing signs of age and wear however it is complete and still there.
The Officers Pioneer helmets are rare than the Officers Infantry helmets that have brass fittings.
