WW1 TURKISH OFFICERS GALLIPOLI STAR IN ORIGINAL CASE
The Turkish Star which is more commonly known as the Gallipoli Star was issued during WW1 to German and Turkish soldiers. It was issued in an enamel version for Officers and Painted version for Other Ranks. Whilst most were made by German companies (marked on the back) there are some examples that were made by Turkish Companies and these are rare to find normally non maker marked.
The example on offer today is Turkish made and comes in its original red case which bears the Turkish emblem to the lid and the inside of the lid. Made from Silver and is pin backed, enamelling is in excellent condition.
