This WW1 Turkish Officers sword sidearm is one of three Purchased recently from a local collection. These swords are not cut down from original length swords but were made specifically in three different lengths. Research has revealed them in photos of Turkish Officers at Gallipoli and the Middle East during WW1.
This sword measures approx 550mm in length in its scabbard. The handle is made of wood and has a chip to it. The guard and back strap is made from brass. The blade is clean and the scabbard is dent free. The blade has a Turkish inscription presumably 'God is Great'. The sword comes with its original Gold knot which is a rarity.
