WW2 AUSTRALIAN ISSUED BCOF PARADE BAYONET
Background.
At the end of WW2 Australian troops as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces (BCOF) in Japan undertook guard and ceremonial duties in Japan during the occupation. As part of their uniform they were required to wear white webbing and their bayonets were chromed.
Item Description
This bayonet was an Australian issued chromed bayonet for the BCOF troops. The scabbard is marked MA (Munitions Australia) and underneath the varnish on the wood grips you can make out the Australian Maker stamp of Slaz for Slazenger. These BCOF bayonets are getting harder to find in this condition.
