WW2 AUSTRALIAN RANVR OFFICER MEDAL GROUP
These medals belonged to Lt Commander (RET) N. J. RIDGEWAY Royal Australian Naval Reserve (R.A.N.R.).
Ridgeway enlisted 1923 at the age of 15 years (Fremantle). He was commisioned as an officer from December 1934. He retired in 1954.
He was the cypher officer in charge at H.M.A.S. LEEUWIN at the time of the Sydney/Komoran battle.
Medal group consists of:
1939-45 Star and the Pacific Star un-named as issued.
British War, Defence and the Australian Service Medals, all officially named to N.J.D. RIDGEWAY RANR on the edge, and the Royal Australian Navy Volunteer Reserve Decoration dated 1945 on the back.
