WW2 DUTCH OFFICERS NAVAL DAGGER, GERMAN MADE, COMPLETE WITH BELT AND HANGERS.
This WW2 Dutch Naval Officers Dagger can only be described as mint condition. All of the original gilding remains with no signs of wear, the same goes for the belt, I would not be surprised if it has not ever been used at all.
The handle is white composite with two join marks running from top to bottom, all other examples of this dagger has these join marks present. the scabbard has engraved motifs to one side. The blade is maker marked to 'E & F HORSTER SOLINGEN' who was a famous WW2 German dagger maker. The other side has the sellers mark of 'J.W. HOUFER SCHIEDAM' Schiedam is a Dutch city west of the port of Rotterdam.
The belt is in unused condition with matching numbers to the revers side of the buckles which display the Lion Head motif. The belt also comes with its complete hanging chains which has not yet been fitted to the dagger.
These daggers are rare and it is not very often that they come on the market as complete as this with the belt and hanging chains.
