WW2 GERMAN ARMBAND FROM STALAG 111C
Background history
Stalag 111C was a German Army POW camp for Allied soldiers. it was located on a plain near the village ofAlt Drewitz bei Kustrin in the state of Brandenburg, (which is now in Poland) about 80Km East of Berlin. Several thousand soldiers and NCO,s from Poland, France, Britain, Yugoslavia and Belgium were interred there, The majority were Russian prisoners and up to 12,000 were kileed or starved to death. In 1944 USA soldiers were starting to be held there. Conditions were said to be appaling.

This Armband is printed with Lager Dolmetscher (Interpreter) on on white cotton material and has the ink stamp Stalag 111C. This is a rare armband.
