German Tan and Water pattern late war Army Camo smock. These Smocks were used since summer 1943 by the German Army and came in a number of varieties, with this one having a hood. Proper HBT(Fischgraetmuster) weave material, which is not only soft, but it very flexible meaning NOT stiff like the reproductions. The armpits have large bands. It fastens with a cord string through five pairs of eyelets (until the two edges of the chest slit overlap) On the chest, two slits allowing access to the uniform pockets under the jacket.
The smock is fastened with a cord around the waste. The pattern is printed on a light field Grey background and is designed to be reversible for winter.
Nicely faded HBT material due to its age and exposure to the elements. Only a couple of very small holes which are hardly noticeable as shown in the images.
