WW2 GERMAN ME 109 BATTLE OF BRITAIN CRASH RELIC
HISTORY
This relic came from Messerschmitt BF 109 E-4- (91145).
BF 109 werk No 1145 was serving with 5/JG53 and was shot down by Spitfires of 74 Squadron at 34,000 feet on 30 November 1940. The 109 crashed at Ham Street, Ruckinge in Kent at 9.30 am. This aircraft was Biggin Hills 600 th kill.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
This relic is a propellor base collar half and was recovered from the wreckage of the ME BF 109 mentioned above. The relic was purchased from John Manning Aviation Artefacts in the UK who was a collector/dealer in these items.
