WW2 JAPANESE LATE WAR TYPE 30 BAYONET
This Type 30 Bayonet is typical of the ones during the later part of WWII. As the war progressed, and the tide turned against the Japanese, the production of both rifles and bayonets were simplified for speed of production. This bayonet has the square type pommel, the blade is unfullered, the handle is held in place with 2 rivets, and was issued in a wooden scabbard with steel tip and chape with the wood bound at 2 points with string.
This bayonet is in very good condition with much of its original blue, good condition handle, and the original green painted scabbard. All parts of this bayonet and scabbard show the less care paid to the final finish and more to the speed of production.
