WW1 ROYAL FLYING CORPS (RFC) MK1 LEATHER FLYING HELMET AND LEATHER FLYING COAT (RARE)
Another local pick-up here in Western Australia is this rare WW1 RFC/AFC Mk1 Leather flying helmet and Leather Flying coat.
The coat is still in very good condition with all its liner remaining and only one button missing at the front as well as the belt (easy fixes if you were that way inclined). A nearly exact one of these coats is located at the National Army Museum online collection that was worn by Captain Henry Owen RFC.
The Mk1 helmet has an issue with the front peak stud where the leather has pulled of the stud which is complete and also two of the side buttons which are shown in the images. The leather is in good condition with the chinstrap complete as is the interior of the helmet.
Nice little piece of RFC/AFC history that is reasonabley priced.
