17th CENTURY GERMAN HUNTING SWORD
This a very nice 17th Century German hunting sword. Dated by the lack of a clam shell guard which was introduced much later and the style of the engraving to both sides of the blade. Fittings are possibly silver as there is a stamp to the pommel that is hard to read. Blade has the usual spotting and is very clean with a clip point to the tip of the blade. Hunting scenes engraved to both sides with Bore being chased by dogs to one side and deer being chased the other. No scabbard. This is a nice early piece.
