EARLY JAPANESE UNSIGNED KATANA BY HIROTAKA DATED 1661 WITH IMPORTANT VERIFICATION CERTIFICATES FROM JAPAN

This Katana which is unsigned was sent to Japan in 2001 to be verified by a panel of Japanese sword experts. To verify the authenticity of a Japanese sword, experts like those at the Nihon To Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK) or the Toho Hozon Kyokai (NTHK) examine the sword's characteristics, including the blade's shape, hamon, nakago, and issue certificates if it meets the criteria.  This Katana has all the verification certificates which will accompany the sword. To give a brief detail the sword maker was identified as Hirotaka who was from the Hokinokami Shimohata School of sword makers and is dated 1661. Whilst the sword was in Japan it was professionally polished with the total cost of assessment and polish of over $4000.

If you are a serious Japanese sword collector who wants a Japanese Katana that is over 360 years old (KANBUN Era April 1661 to September 1673) in full polish and certificates this is the one for you.
