VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN COURT SWORD WITH SOUTH AUSTRALIAN CONNECTION MACGEORGE ADELAIDE
This court sword can only be described as 'in excellent condition'. Showing the very bare minimum of use, this sword has a clean blade with the etchings in perfect condition that display the Victorian Queens Crown. No breaks to the scabbard but could do with a clean and polish to bring it up to perfect. All the fittings are resent and in great order including the original sword knot.
Whilst there is no maker mark there is, on the langet, an engraved name of MACGEORGE ADELAIDE, the etched engraving is consistent with the swords manufacture. I have done a cursory search of MacGeorge Adelaide and the name does appear to a prominent architect who designed many of Adelaides most prominent homes, however, there is plenty of scope for more reseach to be conducted.
