VICTORIAN ERA MALACCA WOOD SWORD STICK/CANE BY WILKINSON PALL MALL
This Malacca wood sword stick or cane measures 870mm long and has what could be a Ivory or bone handle/top. The four sided blade has the engraved "Wilkinson Pall Mall" makers marks to one side of the blade and is decorated on all sides with detailed foliage to 340mm of the blade.
These sword sticks were popular during Victorian times with the gentry of cities such as London and Birmingham as a means of protection against robbers and assailants when walking the streets. This in its time would have been ann expensive item and was made by the Wilkinson Sword Company of Pall Mall London.
